I'm using Win XP and I have downloaded some stuff that I need to change the extension anyone know how??

go to file options

go to the view tab

uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"

click ok to save changes

open my computer%26gt;%26gt; click on tools menu %26gt;%26gt; click folder option %26gt;%26gt; click on view %26gt;%26gt; un chk : Hide extensions for known file types

then you can change extensions...

but if you want to convert the file form one to another extention you need some software as per conversion

Right click on the file, choose rename, type in the new name and the new extension.

And of course, changing the extension of the file does not change the type of file it is, as I'm SURE you know. eg: changing .jpg to .avi does not make it into a movie.. ;-)
