Hello, T-Dawg! You can file Form 4868 to get an automatic 6-month extension of time to FILE your federal return, but remember: you still have to estimate your total tax and make a payment by April 17th in order to avoid interest and penalties. If you don't want to file it by paper (and stand in line at the post office), the IRS "Free File" Alliance is a group of e-file providers that allows free e-filing in certain situations. If you visit the Free File link below and browse the list of companies, you'll see that some of them do offer free e-filing of extensions.

Not all states automatically accept the federal extension, so check with your state tax authority to see if they require a separate filing. The last link below will help you find your state tax authority website if you need assistance. Good luck! :-)

IRS web site will walk you through it...
contact professional accountant and he will do the job. Ofcoarse, he will charge for the same, but will take away your worries.
