October 15 is actually the cutoff to file for 2007 and still get a rebate check. So if you file an extension but file your return by 10/15, you'll still get it, but obviously not on the posted schedule since you won't have filed yet.

Yes you will!! It is actually on the irs.gov website I believe under the faq (frequently asked questions). If you file your taxes after april 15 you will still received a rebate I believe two weeks after the estimated date you are required to receive your rebate based on the last two digits of your ss # and whether you file direct deposit or mailed your return. The IRS is recommending anyone who files taxes to file direct deposit because you will get your refund and rebate faster.
