Is living matter an extension of non-living matter?

Basic constituents of all living things are simple chemicals, is living matter like DNA, RNA just an extension of simple chemicals and we shouldn't be treating living and non-living matter as two different things.

Non-living matter is extremely essential for living matter. Just one example, salts, minerals and trace elements, how important for living organisms.

Let me guess ummmmmmm, you have no social life, correct? does ur question "MATTER"
I thought and arrived to the same conclusions than yours. All universe is really formed of a small numbers of atoms which formed a great number of molecules but the basic components are the same. What makes me trouble is that we can not explain thought but I suppose we must make progress in our knowledge
Yes you are completely right, I've always considered this myself. Cells are made from basic components - cell membrane, mitochondria, cytoplasm etc. Each of these components are made from different compound which are made from atoms. If you look deeply enough into life you its created by the small movements and actions of the atoms and eletron and that everything is living. Soil, carbon, plastic etc are all living.
