What is a judicious extension?

I was reading an article about a NBA player and they were talking about giving him a judicious extension rather than an extravagant one.

What is a judicious extension?theater

It is a wisely stated contract that both parties accept but the receivers (the players) do so barely. It means the teams have more money left to use on other things because the player received enough but not greater than he was worth (extravagant).

ex: The 76's did one of these with Andre Igoudala so they could save space for the offseason. He made a 2 year extension worth about 3 million dollars. He probably wanted more and is the franchises last crowd bringer but they made him sign a smaller contract to save money.
