In the Sims 2, is there any extension to get so there are pets?

Well I recently purchased the Sims @ and was dissapionted there weren't any pets. So is there any extension that has pets? There is an luxury extension, but is there one with pets in it?

The Sims 2 Pets will be available on October 17, 2006 on the PlayStation?2 computer entertainment system, the Nintendo GameCube? and as a PC expansion pack* that builds on the original The Sims 2 PC game experience. Versions for the PSP? (PlayStation?Portable) Game Boy? Advance and Nintendo DS? systems will follow in late October and November. A mobile version will be available in Europe in December 2006.

Yes, all the info you need is either below or in the sources box......I'm going to say it will cost around 30.00 dollars.....40.00 dollars at the most.....but it will be worth it...........the other ones were.
